[Mankato] Meeting May 20

Commander's Remarks: 
Greetings Seniors, Cadets, and Parents,
This week's meeting will be held at the Terminal Building. 
Seniors, we will be joining the cadets for Aircraft Ground Handling training and then moving to a planning meeting. I want to encourage all seniors and parents to attend these planning meetings to help us shape the future direction of our squadron. 
Cadets, will be doing Aircraft Ground Handling. Our squadron has been asked to help man the Fly-in, Drive-in Breakfast in August (see announcement below). This is an opportunity to have fun and provide a valuable service in marshalling aircraft for this event. 
Due to COVID-19 we ask that all members take their temperature at home or by a no-touch thermometer before entering the meeting place. Facial coverings are required indoors, even if social distancing can be maintained. When outdoors, social distancing should be sufficient. All Testing - Requested by Tuesday Evening 2359H. No exceptions. 

Mankato Squadron Fun Run Fundraiser 5k - In an effort to promote physical fitness, our squadron will be doing a fundraiser run on May 22, at 8:00 am, at Bluff Park in Mankato. Use this pledge sheet <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y9_SjCDjKSkNNCp8hswWZ1IHv0gC9ASG/view?usp=sharing> for sponsors. This can be per mile, or as a total amount.

Mankato Fly in Drive in Breakfast - August 15. Check in for workers will be 0800 in ABU’s at the Mankato Airport. Our squadron has been asked by the Local EAA chapter to partake in this event. Cadets will be able to cook breakfast and marshall planes.

2021 MN Wing Encampment Dates - 
Due to the nature of this year, registration will be done differently. June 1st, 2021 will be the go/no-go date, which means that if Minnesota Wing is not in Phase 3 or in plan to be in Phase 3 before June 26th, 2021 encampment will be cancelled. The decision of encampment will be announced the week of June 1st. Please see the difference in registration:

All pre-registrants will be placed on the waitlist, and will be notified by email
On June 1st, if encampment is able to happen, those with a reserved spot will receive an email to complete the MNCAP application, submit payment, and send in the proper forms (CAPF-163, CAPF-162, and Permission Form).
Once the application window is open to those on the waitlist, it will not remain open for long. It is important that all who want to attend read all emails pertaining to encampment and turn in all parts of the registration quickly. All cadets who plan to attend Encampment will be required to produce a completed form CAPF 162, documenting proof of a physical completed within the past 12 months. No exceptions will be granted. Any cadet who has not received a physical in the past 12 months is encouraged to do so, to ensure completion before Encampment

Mankato Squadron Tan T-Shirt - If interested, we have tan t-shirts with the squadron logo on them that can be worn under the ABU’s.  If you are interested they are $12.00 each.  Please see 2nd Lt. Mader if you are interested.
