[Pilots] July Stan/Eval newsletter

Hello MN wing pilots,

Most of you have probably seen the email put out by our national
commander, Maj.
Gen. Edward D. Phelka, relating to a new proficiency flying mission. The fine
details are still being worked out but what we know so far is:
- Mission will start in August and run through the end of December 2022
- All qualified pilots will be able to fly 1.5 hours with an instructor to
work on the 8 areas mentioned in Gen Phelka's email.(Basic aircraft
proficiency)
- This will be run like the annual flight clinic, so a ground portion will
be required. It will most likely be a video type of training to view.
I will pass along the final details within the next few weeks.

As we move from July into August our Safety program should be a focus.
Completion of the two tasks associated with this program should be a
priority.
- Task 1 is the hanger marking project
- Task 2 is the Threat and Error management program.
Remember to forward the task completions to Capt Erickson for task one and
myself for task two.

August will also be a good month to work on SAR training, brushing up on
your ES qualifications and then signing up for the SAR COMP that will be
held in Hutchinson on Saturday Sept 10. Contact Lt Col Stan Kegel to get
your team registered.

Our flying time for this year is down. We should be over the hump for the
hot weather so get out and enjoy some nice late summer flying!
