Hello MN wing pilots,

Seems we are deep into the fall and that winter will be just around the
corner. A reminder that ALL pilots that fly in Minnesota are required to
attend a winter operations briefing annually. So if your squadron hasn't
already done so, make sure that this briefing gets scheduled soon. It is
located on the MN wing Intranet site under Operations>Standardized
procedures and training>Winter operations briefing.

As the airplanes are cycling through maintenance the winter blankets will
be put in them. The oil cooler plates for the C-172's will be installed a
little later. Keep an eye on the temperatures, when the daily temp gets
below 40 the airplane needs to be plugged in for preheating.

A new app that helps navigate the FAA wings site making it much easier to
find some of the items we use often. The link for it is:
EZWings.net
Once you click on the link, you can request or give credit. When you click
on the give credit or request credit button on the following screen it
gives you several options. Clicking on the organization button gives you
the choice to choose Civil air patrol. Then just follow the buttons to find
which items you need. In the end you just need to sign in to your account
to finalize the credits. Try it out to see how it works. It's much easier
than the Wings site.
