[Pilots] Stan/Eval March mewsletter

Hello MN Wing Pilots,

We are into the home stretch of winter!  March is a big spring break month
for our cadets, so check with your cadets at your next meeting and see if
any of them would like to schedule an orientation flight during their break.

A new initiative that I have begun to help alleviate some of the errors in
our paperwork is to do a thorough review of each pilots qualifications
records within 30 days after they have completed their form 5 checkride.
Things that will be checked to verify qualifications are correct and
current  are:

- Completed form 5 grading sheets, 3 pages (preferably uploaded as one
document instead of 3 separate ones)
- Questionnaire from the airplane you flew for your form 5
- FAA pilot license(s) Front and back sides (also prefer both on one
document instead of two separate)
- Flight review -  logbook sign off, or FAA Wings certificate, or new
license
- FAA Medical or Basic med course completions certificate
- For Orientation pilots and MP a scan of your logbook page showing that
you have at least 200 or 300 hours of PIC time
- Any other documents needed to validate a qualification

You should make sure these are all up to date after you finish your form 5.
If after review I find you have errors or are missing something I will send
you an email to correct it. Thank you for your help with this, it will make
our next CI go more smoothly.

Remember with the new A12 proficiency mission you're entitled to one flight*
per quarter * now, so time is running out on the first quarter, try and get
a flight in by the end of March
There is also an open A5 mission for funded SAR training, concentrating on
taking pictures of disasters. Contact Maj Tom Fitzhenry with your training
plan to get approved for funded flights.
