Hello MN Wing Pilots,



Last year at this time we were still over our knees in snow! What a
difference a year makes. This should enable us to get a great jump on our
busy flying season.


By now most of you should have seen the WMIRS/AMRAD review program. If you
missed your squadron’s presentation of this program send me an email and I
will send it to you. Hopefully this review will help with our data entry
process and reduce the errors we have encountered in the past.


We have a new NHQ DOV, Joseph Keller, from North Carolina. He seems excited
to get started and help clean up some of the areas that have been causing
us problems. Some new things we can expect to see:


The AXIS training system will be phased out and replaced by a new system
called ABSORB. This should be a much more user-friendly program. The
changeover is scheduled to take place about June 1


An ICL (Interim change letter) will also be coming out shortly that will
update some of the areas of our 70-1 regulation.


I will send out more information on these changes as they come out.


A larger project that has been initiated by General Phelka is the complete
overhaul of WMIRS. A start over and build a new system type approach. This
will obviously take some time, but at least we or on our way to a user
friendly WMIRS 3.0


Upcoming events:

April 19-21  Wing conference at Cragun’s lodge Brainerd MN

April 27       Check pilot clinic at Hutchinson Camp Craig 9am – 4pm

May            Rollout of this year’s pilots flight clinic


A reminder to our flight instructors, you must complete TSA training and
have it uploaded into your ops quals by April 1 to maintain your flight
instructor qualifications with CAP.
