<div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr">Hello MN wing pilots,<div><br></div><div>The end of our fiscal year is rapidly approaching, our funded missions for this year will be ending on Sept 25.</div><div>We have done an excellent job maintaining our proficiency this year using the funded proficiency mission. At this time we still have quite a bit of funding left in this mission so from today until Sept 24th <b><u>all</u></b> TMP's and MP's are authorized to do a funded proficiency flight (whether you have done a flight this quarter or not). We want to show the air force that we will use the proficiency funding they are providing. I have heard from a number of our pilots that they would like to have a proficiency flight to regain night currency, this is your opportunity to do that if you choose.</div><div>We also have funding left in our onboarding/return to flight mission, so if you have members that can use this mission, try to get some flying in while the weather is still good and before the end of the fiscal year.</div><div>One area of concern that we are still getting from our maintenance staff is the oil levels in our airplanes. They have been seeing aircraft arriving at maintenance with 4 quarts of oil and in some cases less than that. Running oil levels that low is hard on the engines, especially during the hot weather months, and greatly increases our risk of experiencing engine damage or failure.</div><div>Going forward, during preflight if you find the oil level below the 6 qt line on the dipstick add a quart of oil. We want to have the oil level at or above 6 qts before flight instead of below 6.</div><div>Thank you for all your effort and hard work this past year, let's finish strong.</div><div><br></div><div>Take care, Fly Safe,</div><div><img src="cid:ii_lltmq2980" alt="image.png" width="177" height="42" style="margin-right: 0px;"><br></div><div><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in"><b><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:107%;font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Capt. Greg Bestul, CAP<span></span></span></b></p>
