Due to a service bulletin received by CAP from Lycoming, it has been decided to make this bulletin mandatory. So, until each plane receives an inspection, they will be grounded. </div>

<i>Civil Air Patrol has received Lycoming Service Bulletin 667A identifying a potential defect involving thin wall piston pins (P/N LW-13445) that could lead to piston pin failure and an uncommanded loss of engine power. Although service bulletins are not normally
mandatory, CAP is taking a precautionary approach and effective immediately all CAP Cessna 182 aircraft are grounded pending inspection. CAP Logistics will place grounding restrictions in AMRAD and PlaneLogix and coordinate inspections with Wing and Region
Aircraft Maintenance Officers to determine when aircraft may return to service. The CAP Operations Directorate will coordinate with Wings and Regions as needed to support critical mission requirements during this period. The Lycoming Service Bulletin can be
