Good evening, St. Croix Squadron,
For this briefing I'll briefly touch on the risk assessment process. Safety
is something that should be planned for, and to assist with that we
evaluated the risks associated with a given activity. There is always risk
involved with anything, but the planning process helps to reduce it. The
recommended steps involved are: 1) Identify Hazards; 2) Assess Risks; 3)
Develop Controls and Make Decisions; 4) Implement Controls; 5) Supervise
and Evaluate. It must then be evaluated whether or not the process was
adequate, and then the cycle is repeated throughout the activity. CAP
provides the CAPF 160 to assist with the planning process.
Remember that everyone has a role to play in safety so feel free to speak
up when something appears to be unsafe.
Attached is the North Central Region's safety slide for the month.
Thank you for your attention,
