Subject: Stan/Eval newsletter
Hello MN wing pilots,
We are getting close to the end of the fiscal year, only two weeks left to use up any funded flying for this year before things start wrapping up.
I have a couple of items to share with you that have come up recently.
First is the 10vez form. We MUST fill out one of these forms, attach a receipt, and upload a copy into WMIRS to attach to our sortie any time we use the NHQ credit card located in the white book to fuel up the airplane. The word from the finance people is that they are starting to see more and more missing or incorrectly filled out 10vez forms. If the form isn't filled out correctly the air force will not reimburse us for the fuel. Please be careful to fill out the forms correctly, and have someone proof the form if you have any questions, or just to make sure everything is correct.
Second is a little explanation about mission symbols, and what they mean. The symbols are located in CAPS 72-2 with some explanation at the beginning, and insurance information from CAPR 900-5
An "A" mission is an air force assigned mission whose expenses are reimbursed by the air force. Insurance coverage is through the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) and Federal Employees Compensation Act (FECA), which is comparable to workman's compensation.
"B" missions are air force assigned missions which are not reimbursed by the air force (but may be reimbursed by state, local or other agencies). Insurance coverage is the same as the " A" missions.
"C" missions are corporate missions that are not reimbursed. Insurance coverage is through CAP liability insurance.
The number that goes along with the letter symbol indicates what tasks will be undertaken during the sortie. (e.g. a mission number 7 is for a Form 5 or 91 checkride wether its reimbursed as an "A" mission or not reimbursed as a "B" mission)
Mission priority: although the mission symbols are listed by alphabetical and numerical order the priority for missions would be, First priority would be to an A1 actual SAR mission. Next priority would be to A9 maintenance flights for aircraft needing maintenance (inspections or repairs). A third level of priority would be for "A" missions. Since the air force owns the aircraft and establishes these missions they should take priority over "B" and "C" missions. Other than these priorities all other missions should be scheduled on a first come first served basis. Communication among the aircrews and operations personnel is the key to scheduling planes for missions to make sure we don't have any overlapping sorties, and that flexibility in scheduling is sometimes needed to accomodate more complex flights like checkrides or mission training events where multiple persons are involved.
