[Pilots] CAP Funded Flying

Hello MN Wing Pilots,

I wanted to give everyone a heads up as to where we are at with our funded missions. Time is running short in this fiscal year, most all of the funded flying missions will close on Sept 26, to make sure that all sorties are completed and closed out before the 30th of September.

The good news is that we have plenty of funds left for cadet orientation flights, so fly as many cadets as you can! NHQ has indicated that they will add additional funds to this mission as needed, they don't want any cadet left behind!

For the rest of the funded missions, we have limited funding left. Our last round of funds was just added to these  missions.

A7      Form 5/91 flights - we are still only going to be able to fund annual form 5's at this point
A12   Proficiency flying - we will still limit the flights to 1.5 hours
A0/A24 Onboarding/ return to flight - same 3.0 hour per member limit
A5   Transport Mission pilot training, can also be used for mission pilot training
A5   UBX (unit base exercise) must be coordinated with Chief Vance for planning and funds available
A5    SAR COMP -  Sign up your team to compete at this year's competition! Contact Chief Vance or LTC Kegal to register

Most of the rest of the missions have less than $70 in them so we will not be able to get any more flying on them.

When scheduling flight in a funded mission we don't want to see sorties entered more than 5 days in advance. At the end of the fiscal year we see a lot of sorties put in WAY in advance to "block" the funds for a flight which may or may not go. Weather in September can change quickly, and we want to be able to use our funding when the weather is good, not have a lot of sorties waiting until the last days of the mission and then bad weather cancels them leaving funds unused.

We have had a great flying year, lets finish off strong, and make sure we use up all our allotted funding!
