Hello MN Wing,
We are excited that the weather is starting to cooperate and the efforts of members who have been waiting for better weather to continue their pursuit of new qualifications and recertification in existing qualifications are in full swing!
Capt. Bestul/MNWG/DOV and his team under MNWG/OPS ensures OPS/Quals compliance with requirements in eServices and how aircrew documentation is aligned with rules and regulations.
Recently, and trending in the wrong direction, the amount of time spent correcting and responding to improper authorizations is distracting from all the magnificent work you all do, and his prohibiting Capt. Bestul from doing the important work that we need him to do in MN/WG.
The ONLY staff that should be doing final approval of pilot related documents and qualifications in eServices is Capt. Bestul/DOV, or his delegates. We have discussed the issue with CAP/HQ that eServices cannot be restricted to only show allowable and prudent OPS-QUALS for approval by squadron leadership and staff to prevent confusion and accidental approval where the approver is not qualified to make a determination on proper submission. They have indicated that there is no current fix available.
Just because you can approve it in eServices does not mean you should, and it will result in the member you are trying to help risk losing all their qualifications and having to start from nothing.
If you are not sure if you are an approved delegate, please reach out to directly to Capt. Bestul or LTC Yost.
LTC Rossini will be updating the approved missions and summary in a follow up email to make you all aware of available missions for you and your squadron. Chief Vance has spent a lot of time and effort to make E.S. Training missions available for aircrew training, so please review them and determine how they can be used to help the mission capabilities of yourself, your squadron, and Minnesota Wing.
Thank you for all the work you in in the squadrons and for Civil Air Patrol.
As always, feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
Fly Safe. Fly Often.
-Patrick
